Derek Drown made his debut last after many years of taking a break from sprint car racing. With no practice in the car and many years off the guy shows he’s a force to be reckoned with in 2017.
He was piloting the #327 Snack Pack 4 Kids XXX chassis at the opening night of the West Texas Speedway down in Lubbock, Texas.
After 3-4 restarts Drown caught the two leaders asleep at the wheel and put the hammer down taking the lead as he railed around them on the outside.
Snack Pack 4 Kids #327 was up front leading at the half way point. We needed a little more gear to be able to run the top. #74b if Briley Trucking made a pass pushing us back to 2nd, and few more laps to go as the #224 of John Carney came up to take the lead. Drown was able to stay in the mix and took 2nd back over.
The #74b was able to take back second and at the checked the Snack Pack 4 Kids #327 took the checkers in 3rd.
Drown did an exceptional job after picking up the ride just a few weeks ago. With a little more seat time, look for the #327 with Drown to be upfront!
